Our Instruction

At Tong Moo Do we believe that being a good martial artist is not the only attribute needed in a good instructor. Our instructors are not only excellent martial artists but they’re also excellent teachers.

We only select Tong Moo Do students from our adult program to enter our instructor training program. This ensures that our instructors fully understand our unique mixed martial arts system, our training methods, and most importantly our attitude towards our students.

To ensure that our students are always receiving the highest quality of instruction possible, our instructors are rigorously trained in all aspects of teaching the martial arts. Our instructors study aspects of education, psychology, communication, management, leadership, public speaking, kinesiology, and physiology, so they can understand how these disciplines relate to teaching the martial arts.

In fact on top of their martial arts training, our instructors attend a separate weekly class strictly devoted to their learning and growth as an instructor.
We believe that an instructor’s job is to bring out the best in our students, therefore, we focus a great deal of attention to making certain that our instruction is second to none.
